Politico Mentions Joint Center Efforts on Nominating CFTC Commissioner Kristin Johnson to the Treasury Department

Politico’s Morning Money newsletter mentions the Joint Center’s efforts to encourage the White House to nominate CFTC Commissioner Kristin Johnson to be the Treasury Department’s new assistant secretary for financial institutions.

From the newsletter: “House Financial Services ranking member Maxine Waters is urging Biden to nominate CFTC Commissioner Kristin Johnsonto serve as Treasury’s assistant secretary for financial institutions. Civil rights and Black business groups have also called for Johnson’s nomination, including the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, the NAACP and the National Urban League.”

The Joint Center, along with the NAACP and National Urban League, are a part of a coalition encouraging the nomination of Johnson.

Johnson also joined former Joint Center President Spencer Overton for a fireside chat at our 2022 Future of Black Communities Summit.
