Donate Assets

Gifts of appreciated securities offer big tax benefits: a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the asset — plus avoidance of the capital gains tax you would have paid. You can also donate almost any type of real estate such as your home or vacation residence while retaining its lifetime use.

You can make a gift of appreciated securities — publicly traded stocks, bonds, and mutual fund shares. You transfer appreciated securities to the Joint Center, and we sell the securities and use the proceeds to fund our work. You should discuss the tax benefits of such a donation with a tax professional.

Create A Gift Plan

If you want to make a special, lasting impact with your gift, we can help you create a customized plan with excellent tax advantages.

For example, gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts are ways to donate assets to the Joint Center while retaining returns from the investment. These gifts can provide a lifetime income stream for you or your beneficiaries. You can also leave a bequest through a will or trust, or even by naming the Joint Center as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or insurance policy. Bequests secure an estate-tax charitable deduction for the full value of the gift while supporting our mission for years to come.

Planned Giving

A planned gift is one of the most impactful ways you can support the Joint Center’s long-term sustainability. Planned gifts have the unparalleled potential to increase the Joint Center’s ability to be a force for good in the Black community, while often affording exceptional financial and tax benefits.

Consider including us in your will, trust or estate plan. It's a simple way to make an impact and leave a lasting legacy.

Selecting the right charitable estate planning vehicle allows you to reduce your estate and income taxes. It can help you maximize the financial and tax benefits of your gift and create a larger gift than you thought possible.

  • Create a plan for your gift that fulfills your personal intentions and objectives;
  • Designate Joint Center’s use of your gift;
  • Maximize the impact of your gift; and
  • Honor your benefaction during your lifetime.

Matching Gifts

Maximize your charitable contribution to the Joint Center through matching gifts, a special benefit many companies offer their employees.

If your company sponsors a matching gift program, your donation can be matched dollar-for-dollar by your employer. Some companies will even double or triple-match your gift to the Joint Center.

Contact your HR department to see if your company participates. If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer and send it completed and signed with your gift. If you have questions, please contact development@jointcenter.org.

Foundation Giving

The Joint Center’s research innovation is widely supported by private philanthropic organizations. We strive to advance the mission and organizational goals of the Joint Center through lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships.
