Joint Center Quoted in Politico on the Treasury Department Nominee

Joint Center President Dedrick Asante-Muhammad was quoted in Politico’s Morning Money newsletter urging the White House to nominate CFTC Commissioner Kristin Johnson to be the Treasury Department’s new assistant secretary for financial institutions. The Joint Center, along with the NAACP and National Urban League, are a part of a coalition encouraging the nomination of Johnson.

From the newsletter: “Dedrick Asante-Muhammad, the Joint Center’s president, told MM that the effort ‘is an example of how civil rights groups are increasingly coming together to rally around the importance of what previously were thought of as bureaucratic roles removed from the day to day struggles of people of color.'”
