Joint Center Welcomes Two New Board Members

Joint Center Welcomes Two New Board Members

WASHINGTON — The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies is proud to announce the addition of two new board members — Leslie Boissiere, vice president of external affairs at The Annie E. Casey Foundation, and Jason Grumet, chief executive officer at the American Clean Power Association.

“I am excited to welcome Leslie and Jason to the board. They bring expanded networks, diverse perspectives, and increased capacity for action. Their presence on the board strengthens our resolve to foster impactful change and empower Black communities,” said Joint Center Board of Governors Chair Paul N.D. Thornell. “Together, with Leslie and Jason, the Joint Center will continue to serve as a leader for experts and scholars, driving substantive policy debates, and promoting initiatives that support the full freedom of Black Americans.”

Interim President and VP, Policy Jessica Fulton said, “The Joint Center team is grateful to have Leslie and Jason join the board. Leslie and Jason have served as trusted partners and advisors to the Joint Center, and we look forward to benefiting from their expertise in crafting policy, growing teams, and creating impact.”

About Leslie Boissiere: Leslie Boissiere serves as the vice president of external affairs and oversees The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s KIDS COUNT effort. From 2015 to 2017, Boissiere served as a senior fellow at the foundation, coordinating the efforts of Casey’s external affairs team and leading the development of emerging strategies focused on youth and young adults. Upon joining the foundation in 2013, she served as chief operating officer for the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, a $7 million initiative supported by the Casey Foundation. Prior to joining the foundation, Boissiere worked as a vice president for AARP and as the executive director for the White House Council for Community Solutions. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans.

About Jason Grumet: Jason Grumet leads the American Clean Power Association (ACP) as chief executive officer. Grumet is dedicated to working with ACP’s nearly 800 member companies to provide families and businesses with affordable, reliable energy. He joins ACP from the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC), which he founded and ran as president for 15 years. Grumet brings that same vision and passion to ACP, building on the passage of historic legislation to accelerate clean energy innovation and deployment. Prior to founding BPC, Grumet led the bipartisan National Commission on Energy Policy. Grumet received a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and J.D. from Harvard University.
