Joint Center Talks With WURD Radio About U.S. House Compensation and Diversity
March 9, 2022
Dr. LaShonda Brenson, Joint Center senior researcher, joined Charles Ellison, host of WURD’s Reality Check, to discuss a new analysis of the House Office of Diversity & Inclusion’s recent survey on diversity and representation.
“It shouldn’t just be on Black Members (of Congress) to hire Black staff because we live in all states. It should be incumbent on all Members of Congress to hire Black staff, especially in top positions … There are a lot of white Republicans and Democrats who represent states and districts that have large Black populations, as well,” Dr. Brenson told WURD.
