Joint Center Recognizes the Biden-Harris Administration and Senator Durbin for Championing Diversity With Their New Hires
WASHINGTON — In response to the Biden-Harris administration and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) tapping Kylie Patterson as deputy assistant to the President for Racial Justice and Equity and James Floyd as legislative director, respectively, the Joint Center issued the following statement:
“The Joint Center praises President Biden for appointing Kylie Patterson as deputy assistant to the President for Racial Justice and Equity and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) for promoting James Floyd to legislative director in his Washington, DC office. Through this appointment and promotion, President Biden and Sen. Durbin have demonstrated that they understand the importance that the government should be reflective of the population it serves. Patterson and Durbin bring a range of viewpoints and problem-solving approaches that will lead to more comprehensive policy solutions that will reduce systemic biases and barriers for communities with people of color,” said Joint Center President Dedrick Asante-Muhammad.
