Joint Center Quoted in CNN on Importance of Diversity in the Fed Board
Amid President Donald Trump’s attempt to dismiss Federal Reserve Board Member Dr. Lisa D. Cook, former Joint Center Senior Fellow Jessica Fulton was quoted in CNN on the importance of her being a Black woman in this role.
From the article: “‘Cook’s perspective as a Black woman and an economist enables her to offer an important perspective on economic history directly relevant to the Federal Reserve’s full employment mandate, but she also brings needed expertise on topics such as innovation in an economy that is rapidly changing,’ said Jessica Fulton, [former] interim president and vice president of policy at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, a nonprofit that studies the challenges facing Black Americans.”
