Joint Center Meets with U.S. House Assistant Democratic Leader James E. Clyburn

On September 22, the Joint Center–partnering with INSIGHT America—organized a breakfast with U.S. House Assistant Democratic Leader James E. Clyburn.

As Assistant Democratic Leader in the 114th Congress, Congressman Clyburn serves as the third highest-ranking Democrat in the House. A recipient of the Joint Center’s highest award, the Louis E. Martin Great American Award (2009), James Clyburn has been recognized as a champion of rural communities throughout his career. Among others, he has supported the development of regional water projects, community health centers, broadband connections, and higher education by leading the charge for increased Pell grants.
