Joint Center Interim President Participated in APPAM Panel on Tax Policy and Racial Economic Inequality

Joint Center Interim President and VP of Policy Jessica Fulton contributed to a roundtable discussion by the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management. The panel, “Tax Policy and Racial Economic Inequality: Implications for Racial Health Inequality,” also included Georgetown University Law Professor Dorothy Brown, a speaker at our 2023 Future of Black Communities Summit, Bradley Hardy, a member of our Tax Policy Advisory Committee, and others.

The discussion focused on understanding how the U.S. tax system has contributed to racial economic inequality. The panelists also brainstormed ideas on how to rethink the tax system to support the financial well-being of children and families and reduce racial and ethnic disparities.
