On Jobs Day, the Joint Center’s Workforce Policy Director Harin Contractor hosts an online conversation on the implications of the latest Employment Situation Report for Black communities when The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) releases data providing insight into key indicators like the national unemployment rate and the number of jobs created over the month.

On July 5, Harin shared his insights on the latest numbers. One key take away was that there was an increase of 224,000 jobs this month, but job growth is substantially slower in 2019 than 2018, but on a similar pace to 2017.
