Word in Black highlighted Joint Center’s Affordability & Availability: Expanding Broadband in the Black Rural South report in its recent article on artificial intelligence use in schools to combat learning losses.
From the article: “In the rural South, where the digital divide is greatest, about 38% of Black households didn’t have home internet access, which is a higher percentage than White people in the same region (23 [percent]) and the national average (22 [percent]), according to a 2021 report from the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.”
