The Washington Informer Highlighted Joint Center Financial Aspiration Report

The Washington Informer highlighted the Joint Center’s report with NORC at the University of Chicago, “Pessimism and Hope: A Survey of the Financial Status and Aspirations of Black Americans,” in an article on barriers to achieving wealth. The report helps better understand Black Americans’ financial status and aspirations and perceived barriers to realizing those aspirations.

From the article: “A report examining Black Americans’ financial hopes and perceived barriers showed that “high inflation, not having enough money to start investing, and high interest rates were the most frequently cited barriers.” The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies and NORC at the University of Chicago partnered to conduct this study. Additionally, the report revealed a concern regarding their primary economic obstacles, such as high inflation, high interest rates and a scarcity of investment capital.”
