The State Highlights Joint Center Broadband in Black Rural South Research

The State covered the Joint Center’s report on Expanding Broadband in the Black Rural South, in the recent analysis of including Black Americans in the growing tech industry in South Carolina.

The State notes: “A study by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies found that Black residents in the rural South are almost twice as likely as their white counterparts to not have home internet access. The first priority for funding needs to be expanding internet and technology access specifically for K-12 students in these areas lacking coverage.”
