Joint Center Hosted First National Economic Roundtable Convening
May 12, 2026
The Joint Center hosted our first National Economic Roundtable convening. We brought together leaders across research, policy, and practice to engage in meaningful discussion about economic policy, the broader economy, and their impact on Black communities.
Tyese Williams, the Advocacy & Policy Manager of NCNW, delivered welcoming remarks and provided a brief look into the National Council of Negro Women’s history, and Andre Perry, Senior Fellow and Director of the Center for Community Uplift at the Brookings Institution, provided remarks on wealth-building, business ownership, familial economic security, and related issues impacting Black economic mobility.
