KFF Health News Highlighted Joint Center Broadband Research

KFF Health News highlighted the Joint Center’s report, Affordability & Availability: Expanding Broadband in the Black Rural South, which details the potential for broadband to increase economic, educational, and health care opportunities in the Black Rural South—152 rural counties with populations that are at least 35 percent Black.

From the article: “The federal CDC reports that Black Americans are more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes and are 40% more likely than their white counterparts to die from the condition. And in the South, rural Black residents are more likely to lack home internet access, according to the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, a Washington-based think tank.”
