Joint Center Workforce Director Dr. Kayla Elliott Moderates New America Discussion for the Good Jobs Collaborative Launch

At the launch of New America’s launch of Good Jobs Collaborative, Joint Center Workforce Policy Director Dr. Kayla Elliott moderated a discussion on workforce perspectives with “labor leaders, workforce experts, and workers on what’s gone wrong with our approach to workforce development policy and how to fix it.”

Panelists included Alima Iskakova, Restaurant Server and Member of ROC United, New York City; Jihan Baptiste, Lead Echocardiogram Tech and Member of 1199SEIU-United Healthcare Workers East; and Danielle Copeland, Executive Director, Healthcare Career Advancement Program.

The Good Jobs Collaborative is “a new policy coalition of worker advocates, researchers, and policy experts committed to crafting a new approach to workforce development—one that is worker-centered.”
