Joint Center Tech Policy Director Represents Joint Center at DC Justice Lab’s Gilbert Cup Reception

Joint Center Technology Policy Director Danielle Davis, Esq. delivered remarks on behalf of Asante-Muhammad at the DC Justice Lab’s Gilbert Policy Advocacy Competition reception. The event celebrated eight teams of law students who spent months developing legislative proposals and presenting them before D.C. Council members and other leaders in a mock hearing format.

Davis addressed the students, judges, and supporters, offering words of encouragement and sharing her nontraditional journey into tech policy. She highlighted the importance of inclusive policy making, Black leadership in public policy, and remaining open to unexpected opportunities. Her presence emphasized the Joint Center’s commitment to nurturing diverse policy talent and advancing equity through law and public policy.
