Joint Center Quoted in Newsweek on Falling Black Homeownership Rates

Joint Center President Dedrick Asante-Muhammad was quoted in Newsweek in an article focusing on the falling Black homeownership rate and its correlation to the rising Black unemployment rate.

From the article: “‘Most likely the poor job growth in the economy is connected to the increase in Black unemployment,’ Asante-Muhammad said. ‘In some areas where Black workers are concentrated like manufacturing, federal employment and parts of retail and hospitality face sluggish growth. There is also concern that the national turn against DEI is having disproportionate harm on African Americans.'”
