Joint Center Pens Op-Ed on Hill Diversity Leading Up to the State of the Union in The Hill

Joint Center Senior Researcher Dr. LaShonda Brenson penned an op-ed in The Hill discussing the importance of diversity in Congress in anticipation of President Biden’s 2023 State of the Union address.

According to Dr. Brenson, “[t]his week, President Joe Biden will deliver his State of the Union address, laying out his policy agenda before Congress. Congress choosing to act upon the president’s proposed measures is one thing, but how they’ll accomplish anything at all depends, in part, on another matter entirely: the teams congressional members assemble to work for them.”
