The False Neutrality of Trump’s ‘Woke-Free’ AI Plan

Danielle Davis, director of Technology Policy at the Joint Center, penned a new op-ed in Tech Policy Press unpacking the White House’s recently released AI Action Plan and its accompanying executive orders. Titled, In The False Neutrality of Trump’’s “Woke-Free” AI Plan, Davis shows why this framing is anything but neutral. Drawing on the Joint Center’s recommendations to embed accountability, support Black entrepreneurs, and create real pathways into the AI economy, she warns that without intentional design, these investments will hard-code today’s disparities into the technologies of tomorrow.
