Joint Center June Jobs Day Analysis Featured in New York Amsterdam News

Joint Center Senior Researcher, Financial Regulation and Policy, Cantrell Dumas was quoted in the New York Amsterdam News discussing the Joint Center’s June employment and unemployment analysis pulling data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
From the article: “Dumas noted that Black unemployment has improved since late 2025, when it sat at 8.3% in November. But he said that this progress should not obscure the ongoing gap. ‘From November to June, it went from 8.3% to 6.6%,’ he explained. ‘I’m curious to do more digging to see what policies are in place that’s dropping the unemployment rate to where it is now for Blacks.'”
