Joint Center Hosts Salon Dinner with Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV)

On March 29, the Joint Center hosted a salon dinner with Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV), chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), and executives from several leading foundations and philanthropic membership organizations. The event offered an opportunity for guests to learn about the CBC’s agenda and goals in the 118th Congress and discuss intersections with philanthropic agendas to advance equity in our country.

The event featured opening remarks from Joint Center Board Chair Paul Thornell, an overview of the Joint Center’s Economic Policy Program from Joint Center Vice President of Policy Jessica Fulton, and remarks from Joint Center President Spencer Overton, which included an update on the organization’s policy efforts and an introduction of Congressman Horsford.

Congressman Horsford provided an inspiring and informative overview of the CBC’s priorities around engagement, equity, and economic empowerment, followed by a lively discussion with private foundation partners and closing remarks and acknowledgments from Spencer.
