Joint Center Senior Researcher Cantrell Dumas provided remarks at the Senate Banking Committee hearing. He argued that these disparities in financing between Black- and white-owned firms show why capital markets policies should be judged not only by how much capital they help businesses raise, but also by who receives it, the terms, and whether the workers and families applying are protected.
