Today, Joint Center President Spencer Overton moderated the Smart Cities Caucus Future of Work Policy Roundtable at the Congressional Visitors Center at the U.S. Capitol.

On May 8, the Joint Center partnered with U.S. House Education and Workforce Ranking Member Congressman Bobby Scott (VA) to host a Member Roundtable exploring the impact of automation on workers of color in retail.

Spencer Overton participated in the Emerging Tech DC conference’s Future of Work panel. The conference, organized by Public Knowledge, focused on the potential implications of new technologies such as 3D printing, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and virtual reality, including on how we work.  

On May 4, Joint Center President Spencer Overton joined other leaders to speak on the “Workforce Education Development and College” panel at the National Organization of Black County Officials’ (NOBCO) Economic Development Conference in Greenbelt, MD.
