Now Hiring: Policy Manager

The Joint Center is seeking a Policy Manager

The Policy Manager will help support the Joint Center’s Future of Work Initiative, as well as in analyzing other policy issues (e.g., education, equitable development, financial services, entrepreneurship, government budgeting, infrastructure, social services, health, broadband adoption, sentencing, policing, voting, census) in building out the Joint Center’s one-stop shop for Black policy and data. The Manager will undertake research projects and write and publish solutions-oriented reports, policy briefs, and commentaries, work with Joint Center policy analysts in doing this work, and commission and manage projects with external researchers. The Manager will also represent the Joint Center in professional venues, including conferences, briefings, congressional hearings, meetings, and in the media. The position will organize and lead issue-focused meetings. The Manager must be open to working in a startup-like environment with the ability to have major input into the strategic direction of the organization. The Manager will report to the Joint Center’s President. 

Requirements include a Master’s, J.D., or Ph.D. (the following fields of study are preferred—business administration, computer science, economics, economic development, education, government, labor studies, public administration, public policy, political science, social policy, sociology, statistics, technology policy, or urban planning). We prefer someone who has had previous think tank experience as a program associate, analyst, or fellow, and who has had 5-15 years of work experience at a think tank or non-profit organization.

Salary and benefits are generous relative to comparable positions.
