Joint Center President Speaks on MSNBC Regarding Recent Report on Racial Diversity Among Top House Staff

On September 23, 2018, Joint Center President Spencer Overton joined PoliticsNation with Al Sharpton to discuss the recently released Joint Center report on top staff diversity among U.S. House staff. According to that report, people of color make up 38% of the U.S. population, but only 13.7% of all top House staff. When removing Representatives of color, both White Democrats and White Republicans hire overwhelmingly White top staff, even though their districts are surprisingly diverse.
