Joint Center Meets with HUD Secretary Julián Castro

On Friday, December 9, the Joint Center – partnering with INSIGHT America – organized a breakfast with U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro.

The mission of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all. HUD works to strengthen the housing market to bolster the economy and protect consumers; meet the need for quality affordable rental homes; utilize housing as a platform for improving the quality of life; and build inclusive and sustainable communities free from discrimination. Since 2015, HUD has been working on ConnectHome a new initiative with communities, the private sector, and the federal government to expand high-speed broadband to more families in HUD-assisted housing across the country.
